READERS' PIX

Every month we print the cream of our camera-crazy readers’ photos in READERS’ PIX, so get snapping and send yours in...
THE RULES
OK, we know that Bill Brandt said “Photography is not a sport. It has no rules”, but he wasn’t running a monthly magazine, so, the first rule of Readers’ Pix Club is…

Pictures will be accepted on a free-of-charge publication basis only, and as it’s all for a bit of fun, we may take the mickey a bit if the pic warrants it.

How many?
The maximum number of images per month per reader we can accept is five. You can choose the one you’d like us to print, or leave it to our discretion. Emails with more than 5 pix attached will be discarded immediately!

What format?
JPEG or TIFF, please, and maximum resolution - AS IT CAME OUT OF THE CAMERA! Please, please resist the urge to alter your image in Photoshop or any other image manipulation software – even if you are an expert and use £5,000-worth of fully calibrated, professional monitor. Any necessary tweaks to levels, balance, sharpening, etc, will be made by us to ensure the best reproduction in the magazine. Manipulated images (e.g. replaced backgrounds, superimposed heads/bodies, private parts and other skulduggery) will be chuckled at, then chucked.

What we need to know
We need to know your full name and address, and details of where, when and how you took the pix. If you don’t send us these details we’ll be forced to make them up and send any prize you might have won to someone else.

Why haven’t you acknowledged receipt of my pix?
Don’t worry, we’re not ignoring you. Readers’ Pix is a hugely popular feature, and as we receive so many entries each month it’s impossible for us to reply to them all, so we regret that no individual correspondence can be entered into. If selected, your pic will appear in the first available issue after receipt, so you’ll just have to keep checking the mag. It’s just another cunning ploy to get you to buy a copy every month, really… [Shhh! Ed.]

send your pix to: readerspix@boards.co.uk.

(If you’d rather send them on CD, the address to post to is: Readers’ Pix, BOARDS Magazine, 196 Eastern Esplanade, Southend on Sea, Essex, SS1 3AB.)
